The ValuWaste Program is a comprehensive solution for the reduction of food waste in foodservice and hospitality operations. It consists of a set of products, services and management methods that help organizations 1) raise awareness about food value and waste, 2) discover exactly how they waste food, and 3) determine how best to reduce that waste to improve bottom line performance.

To successfully change waste-generating behavior - which is the ultimate goal of the ValuWaste Program - operators need access to accurate data, analytic tools to get to the root of the problem, and straightforward communication and management techniques that engage employees. LeanPath has developed an integrated program that delivers on these needs by providing:

  • Simple technology tools (ValuWaste Tracker and ValuWaste Advantage)

  • Management tools (operating guides, employee recognition programs, checklists, staff exercises, forms)

ValuWaste support starts on the launch day and continues with regular coaching in the following months.  In summary - the ValuWaste Program is an efficient, proven solution and LeanPath provides the professional support necessary to ensure our customers achieve their goals.

The Cycle of Improvement.  Just as managers monitor key operating measures throughout their business such as sales, food cost and labor hours, the first step to reduce waste involves establishing a permanent measurement metric – what we call ValuWaste waste data. To understand the significance of the collected data, operators need to translate it into a useful format, which yields information that facilitates analysis and understanding.

 

 

Once the team has a clear understanding of the problem and ideas about solutions, actions to improve performance can be planned and implemented. As these actions are implemented, the results appear in the weekly metrics, and the cycle of improvement repeats.
