Training
ValuWaste does not arrive on your loading dock with a "good luck, goodbye" message from LeanPath. That's not our style.
We're committed to partnering with our clients to maximize the benefits of waste tracking. Our commitment begins with training.
It's critical to launch any new program correctly, in a way that wins the hearts and minds of managers and front-line staff. This requires excellent communication, training, strong support materials, and a strong dose of passion. You can count on all of the above from LeanPath
We offer two standard training options:
On-Site Training
Our trainer spends a day on-site. We work with managers and front-line staff, making sure everyone understands why waste tracking matters to them, what their role is, and how to do it. Because LeanPath systems are simple, on-site training days move quickly and conclude with everyone ready to begin waste tracking the next day.
A typical training day schedule looks like this:
| Schedule | Duration | Activity (Activities/Schedules are customized) |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | 30 mins | Trainer meets chef, tours facility & meets key front-line team members |
| Morning | 2 hours | Management Class: "How to Get Great Results from Waste Tracking" |
| Morning | 30 mins | Work with team to fine-tune tracking plan |
| Afternoon | 1 hour | In-service key team members one-to-one or in small groups |
| Afternoon | 30 mins | SWAT Team Kickoff Gathering |
| Afternoon | 1 hour | Operations & software training for chef and "data manager" |
| When possible | 10 mins | Briefing for senior management |
| When possible | 15 mins | Briefing for green team (if one exists) |
Telephone & Web-Based Training
We cover the same topics we would on-site, but instead of doing the training on a single day we schedule three web-based meetings over a 1-2 week period. We use these meetings to cover the key content and then supplement them with 1:1 phone calls with the chef or program champion to help them implement a "train the trainer" model for front-line staff. We use a web-based collaboration tool for all training sessions so everyone can see the same materials and participate in an interactive way.
Training Materials
To help with training, LeanPath provides the following items for both On-Site and Telephone Training:
- "Coming Soon" posters
- Color training handouts for all staff
- Visual signage showing how to use the system
- Digital copies of training materials and operating guides
